Posada Stella Maris
Home is where you are
During the past years in Santo Hermano Pedro Parish, we have welcomed several volunteers mainly from the island of Malta, who raised funds to develop projects that are beneficiating the most vulnerable and poor people from our parish and other parts of Izabal.
In Stella Maris church an apartment has been built in order to provide the volunteers with a place to stay while living their voluntary experience, and so make them feel welcomed and appreciated. Posada Stella Maris was inaugurated during the pastoral visit of Cardenal Mario Grech to Guatemala in July 2022 and has 8 double-bedrooms with a total capacity of 26 persons, as the volunteers are coming during certain season of the year, Posada Stella Maris is also receiving families or travelers who are in town for business or vacations with accessible rates in exchange; at the same time they are contributing to our projects.
